New Bus Station in San José! - ¡Nueva terminal de buses en San José!

Since August 3rd. the buses to Montezuma (Cóbano-Montezuma-Santa Teresa) depart from the new Bus Station called "Terminal 7-10". It is a new and modern building located in San José downtown. There is a food court and many shops that will help to kill the time while waiting for the bus.

Big wave season has arrived in Montezuma.  For the second weekend in a row we are seeing a big swell move in.  Please take care in the ocean.  There can be stronger currents and dangerous rip tides in certain places.  Ask for advice from locals about where to swim and stay safe!  Pura vida

Surfing with Young Vision Surf School

For the past several years, Young Vision Surf School has been a great part of the Luna Llena family, providing professional surf instruction to hundreds of our guests.  We are so happy to support these local guys as they continue to provide our guests with exceptional surfing adventures day after day.  

Our guests leave having had an experience of a lifetime, surfing with them and staying with us.  The positive feedback we get brings a fantastic atmosphere to the hotel and happy clients mean the world to us! 

They are the only surf school in the area which have completed two levels of International Surf Instructor (ISA) training, as well as become Certified Beach Rescue Lifeguards, and are licensed bilingual tour guides.  Not only that, they also partner with us every year to organize the local Playa Los Cedros Junior Surf Tournament to help develop and support our local junior surfers, inspiring youngsters with the sport of surfing.

For these reasons, we are excited to work together with them to offer a new ‘Surf & Stay’ package deal for the month of May.  Participants will enjoy the comforts of home at Luna Llena, and the thrill of learning to surf in paradise with Young Vision... and nice discounts too!

Fiestas de Cobano 2015

From February 19 to March 2 the town of Cobano welcomes the annual Fiestas!  A typical Costa Rican local fair, this is the tourists chance to enjoy an authentic cultural experience.  Every day will offer a range of rodeo shows from bull riding to roping, to the town people dodging a charging bull!  There is a wide selection of typical foods, dancing, music and carnival rides for children.  Cobano is a short ride by bus or car from Montezuma, just ask us in the reception at Luna Llena to help you find it all.  Enjoy!

Ferry Schedule Change Starting October 29!

The ferry service between Puntarenas and Paquera has changed their schedule starting October 29th until further notice.  One ferry boat will go away for repairs and the other one will remain in service.

The departure times are as follows:
